Assignment 18A – Create a Customer Avatar
Story
My prototypical customers for my computer charger vending machine business are both female and male college age students. They can be ranging in age from 17 to 22 years old, and maybe even older if a graduate student. They are living far away from the comforts of their home and are living in a dorm or apartment. Most do not have cars at school, but some do. Most get around by walking, Ubers, bikes or busses. They have strong personalities and are studious and intelligent. They live in Florida and enjoy being in warm weather. They watch all sorts of TV, but mostly through streaming on Netflix. Imagine the typical college students. They know how to balance their studies while also enjoying their lives. Their education is important to them and they have a lot of drive to be successful.
Similarities
I have a lot in common with my prototypical customer. I am a college age student and am very serious about my studies. I often study in the library and get around by either walking or my car. I enjoy living in Florida, and I am far away from my home in New York. I watch the majority of my TV from Netflix and spend a lot of time on social media. I know how to balance my priorities as well. I think that it is not a coincidence that I have so much in common with the prototypical customer because I based my idea on something I need and have an opportunity to use.
Hey Jamie, good work on your post! I think you nailed the prototypical consumer. It is basically any forgetful college student! I was in Marston Wednesday night and did not have my charger. It was not because I forgot but because I lost it at Starbucks 2 weeks ago. I could have stayed longer if I had a charger. Hmmmmm.. that avatar is starting to look like me haha
ReplyDeleteHit the nail on the head with this one! You definitely explained a typical college student in 2018. Netflix could probably be the single most important thing to students after textbooks! Although I do not relate fully with the avatar because I have never lived on a campus and never really had the typical college experience, I could see how one would be forgetting their chargers everywhere they go!
ReplyDeleteHey Jamie, I don't think you could have done a better job describing your prototypical college student. Netflix is for sure something every college student uses, and the more us students use it the quicker are computers die. It would be awesome if they had chargers available for rent, oh wait, that's your product! Every time I read your posts, I can feel how invested you are into this product and it’s really cool to see. Awesome Post!
ReplyDeleteHey Jamie, great job describing your prototypical customer. I like that you also thought it was not a coincidence that you shared so much in common with your prototypical customer. I said the same thing about my customers. You came up with this idea because this was a problem that you have encountered yourself, so naturally you will share characteristics with the customers as you are a potential customer yourself.
