Assignment 11A

Assignment 11A  - Idea Napkin No. 1

Me?
My name is Jamie Goldstein and I am 21 years old. I am a finance major at the University of Florida and I am extremely hardworking an driven. I am a great team leader, as well as, a delegator. My aspirations are to be successful and this business could be my career. I would concentrate all of my efforts on it.

Offering?
I am offering a rental service. It will provide the customer with easy access to the major computer chargers at their own convenience. They will be able to use a vending machine at the major UF libraries to obtain their rental of the computer chargers.

To Who?
My product and service will be offered to primarily UF students and graduate students. They are young, hardworking, studious, and smart. The service will be available to anyone who dos work or studies at the major UF libraries.

Why Care?
My customers will not have to waste their precious, valuable studying time to go home to retrieve their computer chargers when they forget to bring them to the library.

Core Competencies!
We have easy access, prime location, exception speed, fair prices, and an efficient business operation.

Why Fit Together?
I think these elements ultimately fit together. Our price at $2/hour fits our customer base full of college students. Our target customer does not have a lot of disposable income, but they would be willing to spend $2/hour to not waste their time to go home to retrieve their computer charger. I fit into the picture well because I am a college student and if I forgot my computer charger at home when I was studying at the library, I would definitely rent a computer charger for that price. I would be happy to pay that, and the convenience of a vending machine is great! This is a huge time saver and would save many student's a lot of their precious, limited studying time. It will be offered at an array of libraries for convenience.

Comments

  1. Hey Jamie! Are you only allowing students to rent chargers? I’m asking because I have actually been in a situation that I had to wait for my wife to come out of class in a university that I was not a part of and my phone ended up dying. It would be very convenient if you could open up the opportunity for visitors as well and maybe even raise the price point since they are not students!

  2. I agree with you, I think that the five elements you discussed fit together well. It is a unique idea that hasn’t been done before and there evidently is a market for this service. The students who would use this service should care because they will save time by not going home to retrieve their charger and they will only have to pay $2/hour.

  3. Hey Jamie!

I agree with each of the sections of your post, each post when into great detail on how your product would work. It would also work extremely well as there is no other product like this and it seems like many people have encountered the problem of running out of battery and having to go home and get a charger.

    Awesome Post!

  4. Hey Jamie, I like that you actually drew out a picture of your product! It was straight to the point and very effective. I studied in the library last week and noticed some students who did not have chargers for their laptops and had to leave. After reading this, I am knowledgeable and do not have questions about what you are offering.
