Assignment 27 A – Reading Reflection No.3
Assignment 27 A – Reading Reflection No.3
The General Theme or Argument of the Book
For this reading reflection, I decided to read How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big by Scott Adams. I chose this title because I had read my peers reading reflections for this book and was interested to read it for myself. The general theme of the book is how he learned how to take control of his life and ultimately succeed. He believes that following a system is more beneficial for a person than setting goals.
Connection to ENT 3003
In my opinion, this book connected and enhanced what I have been learning in ENT 3003 by really focusing on goal setting. This entire semester we have set goals for our own unique business venture. I believe we have gone about doing so in a systematic way. We have done assignments multiple time, with each time showing improvement.
Design of an Exercise
Based on How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big by Scott Adams if I had to design an exercise for this class it would be a continuous assignment throughout the entire semester in a very systematic way. Each week there would be another part, and eventually a book will be made with all of the assignment together. It will be very systematic.
Biggest Surprise
Overall, I think my biggest ‘aha’ moment when reading is that he believes that setting goals for oneself will not cause success. I have always been told and taught to set big goals for myself and by doing so that is how you will achieve them. After reading this; however, I see that the systematic way makes sense. I see where he is coming from and how that really is the way to succeed.
