Assignment 15A – Evaluating How Your Customers Evaluate Stuff
Assignment 15A – Evaluating How Your Customers Evaluate Stuff
Interview 1 – Senior Female
I interviewed my roommate, a female senior at the University of Florida. To her, when making any purchase, she first cares most about price followed by quality. She does not mind paying a higher price for higher quality. She prefers to go to a store to try out an item before actually purchasing it. In the case of my idea, she is happy with the low price of the rental and quality of the brand name charger. She is happy when she buys an item and uses it and it does not go to waste, when she does not regret making the purchase, and when she saves money in the long run.
Interview 2 – Senior Male
I interviewed my boyfriend, a male senior at the University of Florida. To him, when making any purchase, he cares about price, quality, and ease of purchase. He prefers to shop online, rather than going to a store to make a purchase. This is all a result of his need for ease. He loves when there is free two-day shipping. In the case of my idea, he is very happy with the low price, and ease of the vending machine. He is happy from his purchase when the item he buys online is perfect when it arrives, when he saves money while shopping online, and when he receives a coupon code in his online purchase.
Interview 3 – Freshman Female
I interviewed my little, a female freshman at the University of Florida. To her, when making any purchase she cares a lot more about price than any other factor. She enjoys both shopping online and in store, but preferably where ever she gets the lowest price. In the case of my idea, she is extremely happy with the low price of the rental and knows she would use the service. She is happy with her purchase when the item she buys never breaks, when she uses the item to its full ability, and when she does not have to spend a lot of money.
Conclusion
Overall, low price, high quality, and ease of access are most important in terms of alternative evaluation, convenience in terms of purchase decision, and that the product is efficient and effective in terms of post-purchase evaluation.
Hey Jamie! In today’s day and age, you will definitely find more people buying stuff online than in person. I also identify with your third interviewee since I am always looking for the best bargain wherever I go. I recently installed a browser that automatically applies every coupon online to any online purchase I make called Honey. If you do not know about it, you should let your boyfriend know so he doesn’t miss out on the coupon codes!
ReplyDeleteIt seems like price is a very important aspect to your customers. For your business idea this is a good thing since you are offering your service for a low price of $2. Between the low price and the ease of purchase, I think that these customers would be satisfied with your solution of providing laptop chargers for rent at libraries.
ReplyDeleteHey Jamie, after reading your post I can tell you that the people I interviewed have the same preferences as the ones you interviewed. I also find it cool that your product actually caters to their preferences in a pretty direct way, as your product is cheap, easy to access, and high quality as it will charge your computer without any issues. Furthermore, it feels as if online shopping is the new wave as it is as easy as laying in your bed and grabbing your phone.
ReplyDeleteGreat Post!
Low price and high quality is something hard to come by, but exactly what everyone looks for. I know that $2 an hour is a super affordable option, but I think for can even charge more than that. My laptop will charge from 0-50% in about 40 minutes. I like your boyfriend's preference to buy online. Maybe you can make an app or something that you can rent the charger from and keep track of the time of how long you have until it needs to be returned. Great work!
