Assignment 2A – Bug List

Bugs

1.     During the morning hours, the line at the Starbucks in Publix across from Heavener is so long and takes at least an extra 20 minutes.

·      This bug exists because many students and faculty like to have a cup of coffee to start their day.

2.     A lot of mornings, I hear the UF marching band practicing from my room and it wakes me up.

·      This bug exists because the marching band has to practice and the field they practice on is near my apartment.

3.     During rush hour at night, when I order from Bite Squad it takes a lot longer to get my food.

·      This bug exists because there is a lot of traffic during rush hour in Gainesville and many people are ordering in dinner at this time too.

4.     Whenever I have bought the Herbal Essence dry shampoo, the bottle breaks after a couple of uses, even when there is still a lot of product left and there is no way to get it out.

·      This bug exists because the packaging Herbal Essence uses is not manufactured well.

5.     On Fridays and Saturdays, Dragonfly does not take reservations and their wait can be really long before being seated.

·      This bug exists because many people go out for dinner on the weekends and many people love to eat sushi.

6.     At peak times, such as 10:30 am on a Friday morning, the Orange Theory class fills up fast and you get put on the waitlist.

·      This bug exists because it is a very popular time to work out and many people like to get in a workout before the weekend begins.

7.     There is not a lot of street parking near The Standard, so when I want to go there I either have to Uber, walk, or get picked up and I am not able to drive myself.

·      This bug exists because many people live in The Standard apartment building and there is only a limited amount of street spots.

8.     On gamedays, it takes at least 20 minutes more to get an Uber ride and it takes much longer to get to your destination, in addition to the price surge.

·      This bug exists because many more people are using Uber on gamedays, there are road closures, and there a lot more people that come to Gainesville to support the Gator football team.

9.     When I am in my afternoon class all the way at Heavener Hall, it always seems to rain, and I have to walk back in the downpour.

·      This bug exists because in Florida, there is a good chance there will be afternoon precipitation and my class is during the afternoon.

10.  On Sunday mornings, when I want to do my laundry and my roommate is already using the machine.

·      This bug exists because my entire apartment is in the habit of doing laundry on Sundays.

11.  When you drive by the land fill in Boca Raton, it always stinks up your car.

·      This bug exists because the land fill is on the side of the highway and produces a horrible odor that seeps into your car.

12.  When you are watching something on TV, and a commercial comes on during a great point in the show.

·      This bug exists because commercial air during a show, so they have higher viewership and they paid for it to air then.

13.  When you realize you have less than a ¼ tank, and you are on the highway not near a gas station.

·      This bug exists because you go through more gas on a highway and are not always very close to a station.

14.  When someone else in the car has to use the bathroom during a long road trip.

·      This bug exists because everyone has to use the bathroom even during road trips.

15.  When you order your meal at a restaurant and it is served incorrect and cold.

·      This bug exists because orders can be transposed and left to wait before being served.

16.  When you ruin your manicure just minutes after leaving the shop.

·      This bug exists because you do not always let your nails dry enough before leaving the shop.

17.  When your computer is on low battery at the library, and you realize you forgot your charger at home.

·      This bug exists because when you have a full computer charge you do not think to bring your charger.

18.  When you buy fresh strawberries from Publix, only to find that there are moldy ones on the bottom.

·      This bug exists because you can’t always see the berries at the bottom of the container.

19.  When you do your laundry, and a red colored shirt runs onto your other clean clothes.

·      This bug exists when you forget to wash your brand-new red shirt separate from your white clothing.

20.  When you go on a run around campus and halfway through the run it begins to rain.

·      This bug exists because you can’t be in control of the weather and sometimes it rains out of nowhere in Florida.

Reflection

            At first, I thought it was fairly easy to come up with the first 5 bugs for this assignment. As I progressed with the assignment it became more challenging to come up with them. The reason it was easier at first is because those bugs really stood out to me. I had to think deeply and at different times to come up with the remaining bugs. I had to really think about situations which bug me, when products don’t work, and when services are not up to par. Thus, this was a really beneficial assignment because I was able to analyze my daily life in order to see what really bugs me.
